H¡! This is my post about the journey of food in the compost and the journey of food in the waste bin.

When food is put into the compost it will eventually end up as soil or compost. The greens bin will be emptied into a truck and the food will travel to a compost site and sit in a huge container until it breaks down into compost, it is then put into bags and sold to garden stores and others.

If food is put into the waste bin it is immediately contaminated by other foods or other materials. It will travel to landfill and sit there being no use to anyone, getting contaminated by plastic and chemicals. Then the food will never be able to be of use because it will no longer be suitable for plants or animals to be near it.
